The Priesthood in Action!

This week I am extremely grateful for my husband!

This is Reyes when he was getting ready for the Priesthood Session of Conference back in October.

The priesthood that he holds is something that I have been very grateful for lately.

The past month or so has been very stressful for me. I have been dealing with some medical issues. It's come to the point where doctors, blood tests, ultrasounds, and very large medical bills are changing a lot of the plans Reyes and I have made.

We wanted to move to our own place for our "first" Christmas as a married couple.

We wanted to save money.

We wanted to, of course, be healthy.

We wanted to be certain of our future family.

BUT we have come to learn that life is uncertain and scary. AND plans rarely go the way you want.

As I asked Reyes to give me a blessing on Sunday,

God told us that it wasn't about what we wanted.

BUT that He has something planned for us. AND it would be even greater than our plan.

Life is about learning to change your will to God's will.

 And being happy with the plans God has for you.

I am grateful to have a husband who holds the priesthood.

Because I know the blessing I received on Sunday was just what I needed to hear from God.

Chalkboard Notes

Reyes and I have a chalkboard so we can write little notes to each other.

Sometimes they're cheesy.

Sometimes they are simple.

And sometimes they are silly :)

But every time I find a special note,

I'm grateful for the smile that comes with it :)

The Newlyweds Begin a Blog :)

Hello all!! Welcome to the new Alfaro blog! I am completely new to this whole blog thing.. so bear with me! And if you have any suggestions, please help! 

I decided to start a blog for many reasons. 

One, I love reading the blogs of my other friends and family. It's a good way to keep updated on things going on in their lives and get more details than a status update on Facebook would allow!

Two, I am terrible at writing in my journal! But I am always on my computer, so I am hoping that it will be easier for me to pop on here and jot down my thoughts, like an online journal!

Three, I am truly truly blessed! For those of you who don't know, Reyes and my song together is "Little Moments" by Brad Paisley. We've been together now for almost 4 years and married for just over 2 months. And each day I am reminded that it really is the "little moments" in life that are most important. I wish that I had kept better track of the little things in our relationship that made it so special over these years. So I am bound and determined to start saving those memories, through a blog!

The other day Reyes and I wondered, "Does anyone get annoyed with how obviously in love we are?" Well, if anyone does, I don't really care :) We are so happy and so in love! Sometimes life gets hard and it's difficult to find hope, but with my best friend by my side we can learn to cherish the "little moments" that make everything worth it!
